An exploration of light in our lives through the ages ….

This painting course uses colour as our guide to the ‘entwined lights’ of the earthly and spiritual suns. We journey through our changing relationship to the Sun, from mythological times to today, from the Sun-worshipping Ancient Egyptians as heralds of the Sun, which has gradually entered our lives since the Turning Point of Time.

Drawing on the research of Rudolf Steiner, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Arthur Zajonc, and Liane Collot d’Herbois, we work with Steiner’s epoch sketches, flowing colour and mythic imagination to follow the our journey to find inner light in dark times.

What will we do?

• Seven two-hour sessions of review, painting and discussion.
• Wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry watercolour painting. Some participants prefer to use soft chalk pastels instead of wet-on-wet, but please note: I will not be giving instructions on pastel technique.
• Guided by Steiner’s epoch motifs, but not fixed to them. Rather, we use his sketches as seeds to stimulate our imagination, and develop his indications out of our own creative impulse, as he intended we should.
• Therapeutic indications given for anxiety, depression and fear of the future.

2.00pm-4.00pm AEST 4 September to 27 November forthightly.

Who is it for?

• For anyone interested in the spiritual history of humanity, as a journey of light and consciousness
• For artists, teachers, and deep thinkers interested in the anthroposophic approach to consciousness, evolution and transformation through art.

• Previous watercolour painting experience required, preferably wet-on-dry or veil painting.
• Live participation required, unless your timezone makes this impossible. (“Live participation” means live presence, joining in discussions and uploading photos of work to padlet to share with others).

Cost

$300 AUD for ongoing participants
$305 for PD certificate or new participants
Video recordings included in the fee, available for private study for a limited period.

*The 3rd of three courses in our Spiritual and Earthly Evolution series on the origins of our spiritual and earthly existence. This course follows on from Lemuria and Atlantis, but you do not need to have participated in that course to enjoy this course.
